 A fine violin by August Wilhelm Durrschmidt.  Wilhelm was the son of Heinrich Georg Durrschmidt.  Wilhelm was born in 1863 in Markneukirchenand followed in his fathers’ footsteps and founded the Wilhelm Durrschmidt company in 1887 which specialized in the making of violin family instruments.   

A fine Guarneri model robust in size and tone.  A great example of the fine work that cameout of Markneukirchen in the early 1900s.
